There are a lot of advantages of homeschooling your child. You will no longer experience the pain of separation between you and your child. In homeschooling, you are the only one who control everything that you would like to teach your kid.

Your child can grow and develop under your control. You can determine what is good or bad for your child to learn. So your child's learning curriculum can be customized to interest your child and be directed against your child's weaknesses.

Another advantage of homeschooling is that your child will be the center of attention. For example, if Lisa wants to spend more time on Maths because she is weak in that, then she can adjust the time allocation on other subjects, such as reducing the time spend on English lessons.

The timetable will be more flexible. There will be no time constraint in learning a particular subject. The time needed for any subject is determined by your child's wish and interest.

Furthermore, the whole family, including both parents, can take part in the learning process of their child. This allows more family time. For example, parents can go for a field trip and do experiments, projects or even chores with their child. The more time they spend with their child, the more united the family is. Also, the child will not be affected by his or her peers in decision making.

Apart from the above, there will be less or even no competition in homeschooling, as your child don't need to prove their abilities during the competition with others. Parents can have a better understanding of their kids, so they can plan a better and suitable learning program to fit the child's interests.

The tailor-made curriculum should be fun. So children will find learning entertaining even if the topics they are learning are difficult. As the learning styles of different children may vary, it is important to modify the curriculum if it cannot interest your child. For example, some children may like to write while some may like to read.

Given that you are well-equipped with necessary skills and talent, I would strongly recommend you to choose homeschooling your child. This is a kind of education that he/she deserves. You can customize his/her curriculum according to his/her needs and interest and you can spend more time with him/her. You can also protect your child from any negative peer pressures.Homeschooling your child will be your best choice!

by Marion Jones

In recent years, home schooling has become extremely popular especially with middle and upper-middle class families. There have been many arguments before about home schooling. Teachers say that there are advantages as well as disadvantages in home schooling but it appears that the former outweigh the latter and therefore, a lot of families are now selecting home schooling over normal schools.

Cultures vary enormously and relationships within the family are affected by culture too. In some cultures, family bonds are quite strong, but there are also those who don't have very good relationships with other family members at all. However, through home schooling, family relationships are enhanced. Parents have to spend enough time with their kids because of the home schooling program and the children will have to listen to their parents as well. Communication is much improved and both parties will learn about the importance of both speaking and listening.

A lot of families prefer home schooling because of its flexibility. However, since the cost of home education is a bit higher than traditional schools, the financial standing of the family is very important. However, even without considering the financial factor, many parents will still go for home schooling, because it can ensure their children's safety. Public schools often have dangerous situations that can affect kids terribly, but if they are in a home schooling program, they can stay away from these situations and their parents will be there to supervise them.

Instead of placing the kids at a public school, many parents would prefer home schooling because the learning environment in public schools is not that conducive. In public schools, very young pupils may experience difficulties that can affect them socially, mentally, and academically for a long time. Experts that have conducted surveys, claim that children learn better in a good environment surrounded by loved ones. Another advantage of home schooling is that children can learn according to their ability. You can't just give a new lesson, if the previous one hasn't been learned yet. It may take longer, but the results are better.

As said earlier, home schooling is a tad more expensive. However, if you think that you can cut down your child's educational expenses, you're probably wrong. Home schooling expenses are almost the same as those of traditional schools. However, if you participate in the forums of the parents of home-schooler's, you will discover that there are ways to reduce costs. Of course, you will have to spend on the resource materials, computer, and internet, but you can also use external events like cultural meetings, public libraries and many others.

You will be given even more cost-saving ideas, if you contact other parents. The Internet provides endless possibilities and with a bit of research, you can surely come up with ways to ease the costs. If you don't want to hire teachers, then you will have to learn the lessons as well. You have already studied the various subjects in your kids' educational program, so you only need to review them. You can get further learning material online or the bookshop and later on, teach your kids.

Therefore, it is plain to see, that home schooling is definitely the best option, particularly, if your child is still very young. So, it all depends on you and your child, whether they decide to continue this kind of education until they graduate for college.

Would you like your kids to get better grades in French at school? Or perhaps you're moving to a French speaking country?

No matter what your reasons may be for wanting your child to learn or improve their French, have you ever considered a kids French online course?

Below are some reasons why kids French online courses are even better than school teaching and why you should consider it a worthwhile investment:

1. Have you heard of the four elements of education? They are; speaking, listening, reading and writing!

For kids to learn any new subject most effectively, all four elements have to be utilized in the learning modules. Unfortunately, only reading and writing are focused on when it comes to learning languages in western schools!

The problem with this approach is that kids become bored much more easily as they feel less engaged with the learning process! Not only that, but what has been learned is much more readily forgotten!

There are kids French online courses that use all four key educational elements, which therefore solves this problem, making the learning process far more effective!

2. Most kids French online courses have downloadable audio modules so that your kids can put the material onto their mp3 players! They can listen to it as often as they like, which makes learning easy!

3. The games and exams which are provided are fun and challenging, testing your kids at every level! Something that is not easily and often enough provided at school!

4. The forums provide chat window facilities which enable your kids to interact with other French students, in French of course! This provides unique reading and writing practical experience that is sadly lacked at school!

5. The forums also offer, providing you have a head set, the opportunity for your kids to speak French to their new friends. This completes the four elements with listening and speaking skills!

6. You could go for a personal tutor! They are really good and typically cost around $40 per hour! However, for a one off refundable fee, you can get a kids French online course!

Kids French Online courses continue to give excellent results at helping kids learn the beautiful French language! If your children need to learn to speak French for any reason then i suggest you take a look at a Kids French Online course!

by Colin Jones

If a survey by the National Center For Education Statistics is to be believed, roughly 1.1 million children underwent home schooling in 2005 alone. That is a great deal of children. Not so long ago, homeschooling used to be an extreme statement - something like a declaration of independence.

It was the conservative Christians who pushed for homeschooling in the 1980's and legalized it in every State. But nowadays the typical homeschooling pupil is not religiously motivated.

Later surveys indicate that parents are really fed up with the public school system where a lot of the learning is superficial and compulsory. They are also concerned about the negative environment in school, ranging from drugs and abuse to negative peer pressure.

Because of this, we have a surprising mixture of people who form the homeschooling world of today. They cut across all religious creeds and all regional borders. Their chief goal is providing meaningful and productive education through a means that strengthens the bond between the various members of the family.

These families all have one major thing in common - a long standing commitment to the sanctity of childhood. The children of these families are given a primary position. Many believe, and, probably, rightly so, that home schooling allows parents to bring up their kids in a more natural and nurturing environment.

Public schools can make a child nervous, subservient and downright mean. Children who receive their education at home are protected from these damaging, negative influences until they attain an age where they can withstand them.

Home-schooling draws the whole family into the quasi religious task of teaching. Everyone has a role to play. Both the parents together form a bond with the children. Any experience can be turned into an educational experience. Both the parents are aware of exactly what is going on in their child's head.

Parents also have a greater say over the kind of religious and moral values that the child is taught. Even watching a film together can become a learning experience. Trips to the libraries, zoos, museums and other places become educational experiences as well as recreational ones.

A home-schooling family is usually dependent on the income of one earning member. That means that often outgoings have to be curtailed and proper planning of expenditure is necessary. This helps to bring the family members together and everybody becomes involved in the process of saving money.

Just having a parent at home to supervise, to nurture and to care for the children brings with it a lot of love and caring. Even the husband chips in and there is just no room for boredom.

All right, problems do crop up, and there will be many misgivings in your mind, but when you know that your children can always count on you, and your kids know it too, then homeschooling becomes a richly rewarding experience.

Everyone will run into at least one person, maybe more, who will tell them that they shouldn't homeschool. The decision to homeschool often isn't popular, and isn't an easy one to make. Dealing with homeschooling nay-sayers will have to be dealt with ahead of time, and the choice in how your child is educated is entirely up to you.

Regardless if you have a Bachelor of Arts in Education or not, one of the quintessential arguments of a homeschooling nay-sayer is that you're not qualified to teach your own child. I say poppy-cock to this argument! You have already been teaching your child since birth, if you're a parent. Why wouldn't you or your spouse be qualified to teach your child how to read or do math, if you could teach them how to talk, walk, and use the restrooms themselves?

Besides being "unqualified," other nay-sayers will tell you that teaching a child is too difficult. What I find even more difficult is the thought of having to teach with 18-20 five and six year old's several subjects all in one day. That is a difficult job; teaching one child to read is not. You can do it!

If you are wanted to homeschool, another argument you might hear by nay-sayers is that children need socialization. I'm not sure I want my children to learn all the things they learn at school and I am sure you feel the same way. Not all lessons are given by the teachers but rather are learned as the result of being with other children.

To this argument, I say that 95% of the children in public schools are less socialized than homeschooled children. Homeschooled children can deal with their peers and can carry on intelligent conversations with people of all ages. Public schools are artificial and create not true to life societies. It just doesn't happen, and it won't happen, that there won't be a time at any point in your life that you're not going to deal with people of all ages.

These are just a few of the comments that you'll likely hear as you are researching the possibility of homeschooling your child. All I can say is that it's okay if you don't know everything you're told you need to know. Take that as an opportunity to learn right along side your child. Since you want what is best for your child, you will be giving them the opportunity to learn at their own pace and concentrate on the things they are interested in learning.

More and more parents are turning to home schooling as an alternative to traditional education. Doubtless, this makes sense. Our homes are where we learn most of what life requires of us; and no teacher can do as much for a student as a parent does by talking, reading, and otherwise instructing a child. Home schooling extends this, and does so quite effectively: in fewer hours per day, home-schooled children frequently cover more material than students in traditional schools.

Accredited Home School Programs

The definition of home schools is the education of children outside of traditional schools where the pupil is taught by the parents at home. Utilizing accredited home school programs are considered by some to be a better alternative when it comes to the education and safety of their children.

Accredited home school programs are similar to the curricula of traditional schools, but the method of instruction is through parental supervision and self-study. Thus the parents are assured that the studies their children get through home schooling is similar to what they would be getting from regular schools.

Do Not Confuse Home Study and Home Schooling.

This term pertains to studies done at home temporarily if a student is not able to attend the regular classes in a school due to physical restraint or temporary confinement at home that resulted from an accident or injury. With accredited home school programs the parents have direct control over the children's studies, unlike home study.

Students can learn with accredited home school programs regardless of age or their status. The programs that accredited home schools offer are suitable for everyone from pre-school aged children on up to high school students. The home school curricula can either be taught by the student's mother and/or father.

Families choose to home school their children instead of sending them to public schools for a variety of reasons. Homeschooling helps parents and children form strong bonds. In addition, parents have direct control over their children's learning using accredited home school programs. They do not necessarily have to follow the traditional school curriculum.

Use Accredited Home School Programs

Using accredited home school programs could also provide benefits for people who live very far from their local schools. A significant amount of money could be saved by removing transportation costs from their list of expenses. Depending on your needs, the home school schedule can always be adjusted to your convenience.

Accredited home school programs can satisfy both the educational needs of the child and the safety concerns of the parents. More and more parents are opting for home schooling as a safe and sane alternative for their children’s education. With home schooling, there is no threat of gang violence, random shootings, drug dealing, or other negative activities. The fact that there is greater parental control over what is being taught makes home schooling an increasingly popular option.

There are many more benefits of home schooling than just the obvious few. If you are contemplating taking your student out of the public education system or are thinking about beginning home school for your child you should learn what home school education entails.

Parents Have Control of the Environment

One of the benefits of home schooling is the ability for the parent to have control of the environment. A home schooled child doesn’t have to worry about crowded schools, poor staff, or problems like drugs, gangs and guns. Homeschooling will allow your children to circumvent these problems and focus on a quality education.

Religious Teaching is Important for Some Parents

For the parents that religious instruction is important there is no problems. Public schools are forbidden to do any religious instruction. Sending your child to a parochial school costs a lot of money and there is no guarantee that their education will be any better. The best answer is a Christian home schooling curriculum of your own. If you want a curriculum for your child that emphasizes math or science, you can do that too. The best thing about the benefits of home schooling is that what you think is most important for your child to gain from his education. You will be able see that your child gets it in his or her home schooling.

Homeschooled Children Progress at Their Own Speed

One of the best benefits of home schooling is that the homeschooled child is able to progress at his own speed with learning. And it is always faster than in a regular classroom. The students in a class with 30 or more others do not always have this luxury. There is a daily schedule to follow and if a child has failed to grasp a concept when the class moves onto a new topic, then that learning opportunity may have been lost forever. The homeschooled child can continue to work on each topic until he has thoroughly mastered it. And when he masters it faster there is time to learn more things he would never get in a classroom.

There is No Funding in the Public School System for Special Cases

The public schools do not have the money or time to give the students hands on attention, using what is claimed to be the best method of learning. This can be achieved in a home school program with much more time and money to spare. Studies have proven that with hands on learning through home schooling your child can learn more easily and retain the information longer.

Opportunity to Learn Much More

Besides the more directed learning, one of the benefits of home schooling is that children will also be able to gain more knowledge. A public school isn't able to accommodate the learning needs of every child. Home schooling offers children the opportunity to learn more, but to learn it more efficiently and retain more without distractions.

The Greatest Benefit of Home Schooling

The greatest benefit of home schooling is the fact that the child can sense the deep love that they receive from their parents. There is trust and sense of adventure that develops between parent and child as they explore these new horizons together. Children will treasure the gift of being home schooled for the rest of their lives.

Is Home School Legal

With the poor quality environments of the public school system more and more parents are choosing home schooling for their Child's education. Home schooling is legal in every state in American, but each state has its own home school requirements. If you want to get homeschooling status, you will need to know what your state requires.

How to Find Home Schooling Requirements

When just starting out home schooling, you should contact the local school board for help in making sure you comply with all the states home school requirements. It is a good idea to do this before you start to teach the kids at home. It is a good bet, you're not the only family who will be home schooling their children. Most likely in your community, the school districts will have all the information you'll need. It's simply an issue of registering and following the necessary guidelines.

The States Have Their Own Home School Requirements

Each state sets its own home school requirements for children to be home schooled. There are regulations are in place to ensure that minimum state educational standards are being met. And they should not be viewed as being restrictive. Even if you plan to provide a wonderful and excellent education, there is no certainty that the next person will.

States That Do Not Have Home School Requirements

Idaho, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Texas are states that do not require any notice for home schooling. The home school requirements in California, Alabama, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah are similar and merely state that children being home schooled report this to their home state and no other follow up is necessary. In most of the cases no further follow up is required after this. At first, you might think that it would be better not to have home school requirements. But, school curricula are usually set up in a specific way to meet particular goals. By setting up your homeschooling program in such a way that it mirrors the schooling provided by your states public schools, you will be giving your children the same core knowledge required.

The Special Requirements Home Schooling States

In order to home school your child in Colorado, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Oregon, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia you have to provide notification. Follow up, periodic testing and evaluations will be administered by your local school district. They do this to determine your compliance with state educational standards and your child's progress.

The Stricter States for Home Schooling are

These states have home school requirements are stricter than for public schooling. Rhode Island, Massachusetts, North Dakota, New York, Vermont and Pennsylvania are among these. They monitor the home schooled child's progress closely. Their school districts require their own approval of the curriculum. Sometimes the parents must have teacher qualifications. There are instances in which state-mandated visits by school officials may be made. And of course, the home schooled children are tested and evaluated frequently.

The Home Schooling Choice

Home schooling can be a very rewarding choice for your family, if you keep in mind that it comes with great responsibility for your child's academic development. Whatever decision you make with regard to home schooling, it's important to ensure that you comply with your state's home school requirements prior to starting home schooling for your child.

Testing to Identify Learning Requirements

Home school testing is how you will identify a curriculum which is suited to your child. Each child is different and has different learning abilities as well. If you try to teach your child using a curriculum designated to be appropriate based on age only, it may not be right for the child it they are not ready for the materials yet. Sometimes his or her abilities far exceed the materials provided in the curriculum.

Without Some Challenges it Will Cause Boredom

A home schooling curriculum will not work for the child if his or her abilities exceed the material. The opposite is true as also. A lot of times, boredom or frustration is the real reason why kids do not seem to learn. It is tough to pay attention and soak up material which isn't interesting and the same is true if its too difficult. Your goal should be to find a proper curriculum for a student's needs; this is the reason for standardized home school testing does.

Home School Testing Materials

Home school industry curriculum producers provide a very good selection of testing materials to home schooling parents. An excellent choice for home school testing is the California Achievement Test. This test is used for kindergarten through twelfth grades. It is by no means the only one available but it is a good one.

Home School Testing is Different for Each Grade Level

Home school testing deals with many questions that pertain to each grade level. To give you an idea for instance, at the kindergarten grade level, an exam will ask about information on basic vocabulary, simple math and also comprehension. For the fourth grade and beyond, exams will consist of vocabulary, math problems, language arts, reading and various other skills.

Different Methods of Home School Testing

Home school testing can be conducted on the internet through some companies. With other companies it is necessary for the child to take a group of tests in their home and then send them by mail to the company so they can score the tests. Some companies will let the parent give the child a test.

Informal Home School Tests

Informal tests give the parents the ability to evaluate the student's level of achievement. For informal home school testing is usually designed so as to be detailed in specific requirements and items. This is the reason for emphasizing certain specific goals and procedures and at the same time giving lower weight to others.

Formal Testing

The data taken from this type of test should be looked at by a professional. It is essential that home school testing be administered based on what the child has a knowledge of, so that the parent can be certain that the test can provide an accurate assessment. Needless to say, a child can learn best if the right course of study is presented.

Is Home Schooling Right For You?

In order for parents to decide for sure if home schooling their children is the correct decision, they must know something about home school first. It doesn't matter what the reason is for leaving a public school system or deciding to teach your child at home school, you need to do some research before giving forward with it.

Home Schooling Research is Key

One key component to learning how to home school is to first research the program or curriculum you would like to use for your children. There is a host of good information available online and you may find that most of the information that you need to know is provided there. It will take some patients in getting your questions answered. The resources that provide the information may not be real good at answering your questions. You need to be careful when reviewing the websites, sometimes getting a straight answer may be a little more of a challenge.

Find a Home Schooling Person or Group
