Homeschoolers love to do arts and crafts. They are more relaxed at home and seem to be more creative than children that are going to a public school. You will want to have items at home so that your homeschooler can make items when the mood strikes them and you also don't have to spend a lot of money doing that.

Young children love arts and crafts and it's easy to find things that they will love to do. They love to paint, you can make paint out of whip cream and add food coloring for non-toxic paints for younger children. Giving younger children cut out shapes and glue- they will be able to design their own masterpiece. Since they are learning basic skills you can give them safety scissors and let them get used to cutting out things. Other cheap items that you can obtain for their arts and crafts would be feathers, beads, yarn and play dough.

For older children you will want to have something that they can create more complex crafts. Maybe you can teach your child to crochet, or knit. Maybe you like to sew; sewing would make a good craft project for children. There are plenty of things that you can incorporate for children to do crafts.

No matter what age your child is, you can always find something for them to do, and keeping supplies on hand will save you money in the long run. Always keep a box of supplies for them. You will want to keep crayons, chalk, paper and beads and other things that can use to make arts and crafts. This is also great for rainy day projects.

There are many recipes that you can make your own play dough, or bubbles that you can use for home school crafts that are inexpensive to make up and can be made with minimal effort and time. It's easy to make play dough at home, and if you keep it sealed in a plastic zip lock bag you can use it over and over again.

You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a great supply of arts and craft projects. A quick look online and you can find many age-appropriate projects and patterns that you can print online and always have something for them to get creative with.
